Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Continuity of Care
Beginning in 2019, the Vermont Department of Corrections (VT DOC) and Department for Vermont Health Access (DVHA) collaborated to perform a longitudinal survivor study. Using Medicaid claims data, DVHA matched individuals who received MAT while incarcerated and were then released to analyze engagement and continuity of care post release in the community. Partnerships with Vermont Department of Health (VDH)
3-4-50 Data Brief
The Vermont Department of Corrections (VT DOC) and Vermont Department of Health (VDH) partnered on a data brief on the 3-4-50 concept that demonstrates that 3 health behaviors contribute to the 4 chronic diseases that claim the lives of more than 50% of Vermonters. VDH provides this information utilizing statewide data and with special populations, including with data supplied from the VT DOC on the incarcerated population. Mortality of Vermont Incarcerated Persons Data Brief
The Vermont Department of Corrections (VT DOC) and Vermont Department of Health (VDH) partnered on a health equity data brief comparing deaths that occurred in Vermont correctional facilities to those in the Vermont community from calendar year 2019 through 2023.
