Waterbury, VT – The Vermont Department of Corrections is announcing an update to the Department’s Supervision Fee Payment processing. The Department is now operating on a web-based portal for Supervision Fee Payment processing to better align with evolving technology and ease the burden on those under supervision.
Until Tuesday, Vermont DOC utilized the Offender Payment Coupon, which limited the payments of Supervision Fees to only bank checks and money orders. With this new portal, personal credit cards, VISA/Mastercard enabled debit cards, and electronic checks will be allowable at no additional cost to the individual. When payments are submitted through the portal, an emailed receipt specifying the individual’s transaction details will be sent to them as backup documentation for the payment made. Vermont DOC is covering the cost of those transaction fees.
“Vermont DOC’s new web-based payment portal for supervision fees is another step in the Department’s commitment to modernizing our processes and easing the burden on those under our supervision.” said Commissioner Nicholas Deml. “I am proud of our team’s continuous effort to improve and I look forward to future efforts to streamline and adjust our system to respond to the needs of Vermonters.”
The Offender Payment Coupon, along with physical bank checks and money orders, will be phased out by January 2023. Supervisees are encouraged to explore the new electronic Supervision Fee process and submit any questions to Probation and Parole offices.
